The World According To Arthur 2021
Perfumer
Fabrice Pellegrin
Key notes
Incense · Ambrette Firabs · Tonka Bean Absolute · Myrrh
A boudoir vanilla. Subtle and gorgeous with a sweet iris quality and smoky incense.
Someone described this as nuanced and I completely agree. It's a very calming fragrance that is impossible to stop smelling. It would be at home on a vintage vanity amongst powder compacts and silk pillows.
Arthur is unusual in that it smells grounded and provocative all at once. All of the notes blend flawlessly, with nothing jumping out as harsh or shouty. I like how quiet the incense is here; it lets the vanilla and tonka speak. There are definitely similarities in style to other perfumes like Diptyque's Eau Duelle EDP and even YSL's Babycat, but this manages to hold it's own in my opinion.
It's the perfect vanilla for someone who doesn't want to be overwhelmed by their scent.
Quietly confident and effortlessly sensual, it's perfect for almost any occasion.
